Able Sail is a sailing program for adults with a physical disability. The NSC has been operating a sailing school since 1979 and the Able Sail program has been running since 2001. For those who wish to take formal sail training, this is where you start to learn the basics of sailing. Think of this as level 1&2 levels as set out by Sail Canada. Sailors will learn the fundamental skills including basic terminology, knot tying, and basic boat handling skills. Teaching can be done from any of our accessible boats. Upon completion, sailors can continue to participate in our program in the recreational or sign up for our Intermediate courses which then enables those interested to continue onto our racing format.
